The experts from the Partnership Network “Education for Sustainable Development in Ukraine” and the UNDP-GEF Small Grants Programme team conducted the training session “Create Your Own Project – Help the Community Solve Ecological Issues” to teach children how to implement a successful environmental project.
The team, which presents the best project, will get a grant of 5000$ to install energy efficient technologies in their school by the end of October! And when winter comes, these children will be warm because of the warmest thought that it was them – the new leaders! – who have improved their lives!
In addition, the UNDP-GEF Small Grants Programme held a series of ecological games – “Green Manager” and “Green City of the Future” where decision making skills and ecological education were improved through an exiting game.
The project #NewLeader is a local initiative of UNDP Ukraine Youth project, based on the world-wide project NewWorld, which works to empower youth and women, promote healthy lifestyle and improve access to clean water. In Ukraine, we also cooperate with National Olympic Committee to arrange morning exercises with Olympic champions for children as well as lectures about leadership and team work!
