The GEF SGP marked 5 years of work in Ukraine with a film presentation

The film premiered in the Cultural Center “Cinema Kyiv” on January 15th and was presented by the SGP partners - NGO "Center for Civic Education" and Charitable organization "Kraina Kino".

In the framework of the grant project implemented by “Solar Energy” NGO and supported by the UNDP-GEF Small Grants Programme solar batteries have been installed in the households of Luhansk region.
In August 2015 Mr. Neal Walker, UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine visited the GEF SGP Project presentation, aimed at combating degradation of land polluted by radionuclides.
The grant project implemented by NGO “Ecological Heating” and supported by the UNDP-GEF Small Grants Programme in Ukraine provided households, which are hosting internally displaced persons (IDPs), with solid fuel boilers. They will heat buildings and thus mitigate climate changes.

On 4 June, the winners of the National Children’s Competition “Second Life of Waste” were announced and awarded. The contest was held in the framework of the annual All-Ukrainian Environmental Forum organized by the Partnership Network “Education for Sustainable Development” and supported by the UNDP-GEF Small Grants Programme and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. The competition raised the awareness of the schoolchildren on existing environmental issues related to household waste and helped develop a responsible approach to environment protection.
